An autumn altar.
Autumn is all about harvest — the harvest of our thoughts, our prayers, our actions and our words. It is the return of all we have done throughout the year. Indeed, Samhain, thousands of years ago actually occurred in what we now call September, but, due to the precession of the equinoxes, it falls in November, when the Sun is at 15 degrees Scorpio. (Each year is different — this year Samhain occurs between the 7th and 8th of November). Lammas was our first harvest celebration this year, and on the horizon is the second — the Autumn Equinox when the Sun enters the sign of Libra — this year the 22nd of September, when the moon will be in stable, hearth oriented Taurus.
Harvest calls. We can feel the energy. Some doors close. Some are about to open. It is time to thank “that which runs the universe” and work for continued blessings of hearth and home.
Braucherei and Granny Magicks can move seamlessly in any religious choice: Heathen, Wiccan, Druid, Judaism, Christian, etc. The magick WORKS. It is up to you to choose the structure from which you will operate. And in that structure? Create joy.
Neither ritual nor magick need be complicated or elaborate. Actions, thoughts, and words from the heart are most important of all — they contain the real power.
The SpellWork above is an example from my Braucherei / Granny Magick course of study. Here, it isn’t elaborate we’re going for — our goal, instead, is working with what is around us to bring the joy of the universe into the life of the practitioner. This example is an apple with a tea candle inset. Candied nuts, fruit and brown sugar sprinkled on top can be activated for prosperity and good fortune for your home and your family. A ritual from the heart will lovingly wrap the power around your spell. Raise your voice to the Gods and celebrate your life! It takes only a few moments of your time to reap the tremendous rewards of universal love.
Harvest Blessings Upon You and Yours.
