This Week’s Theme: Clearing Your Mind
The Foundation — Begin your day with the Braucherei Morning cleansing and empowerment exercise (please view first post of the program ), followed by practicing this week’s theme — Clearing Your Mind — where each day you will practice replacing negative thoughts with positive ones. Think of something you love — and hold onto it as long as you can each and every time a negative, fearful, or worry filled thought crosses your mind. When you have finished with this week’s theme exercise, move on to today’s fun activities!
Silver Notes — How did you do yesterday? Did you make your Joy Jar? The Thanksgiving holiday was a marathon of activity for me. It took me four days to recover, only to look around the house yesterday with eyes bugging out of my head at the mess (like my ignored laundry and the covered roasting pan sitting on the counter that I thought was washed — and wasn’t — yuck, four day old duck drippings). Argh! Then there was the guest bathroom. A cobweb as big as a basketball behind the door complete with munching spider…did I really forget to put away those Halloween decorations by the sink? And my work room?
But, that’s okay because this year’s release program will take care of that — and more! I’ll just take it one step at a time, multi-task to save steps, and onward I will go! If I have trouble clearing out an area, I use the Three Pass Technique. For example, have you ever gone through a drawer, cleaned it out, and found yourself putting most of it back? Just can’t part with this. I might need that. Hmmm, what does that go to? Better not throw it away. Doesn’t matter that I’ve seen it in there for over a year and still have no clue what it belongs to. So! I developed the Three Pass Technique:
Pass One — Empty the drawer and clean it out. Throw some stuff, like wadded up paper, silt, yarn boogers, etc. Organize what is left and put it back. Pass Two — One week or a few days later — Empty the drawer. Throw more stuff. Pass Three — One week or a few days after Pass Two — Empty the drawer.
Of course, you could always be courageous and just dump the entire drawer the first time. Remember, you are in control.
The Three Pass Technique is super advantageous for many areas of your home from small to large. Sometimes, you just can’t part with stuff the first time around. Maybe because of an emotional attachment, or you might think it will be needed later, or you just aren’t sure who it belongs to. Surprisingly, the second time looking at the same junk is both soothing and motivating. Yeah, I know, it sounds crazy — yet, you realize that you are totally in control…and then you say to yourself, “I don’t really need that,” and out it goes. Or, you may not have the epiphany of release until that third pass. That’s okay. The fact that you are revisiting the object a third time should tell you something — usually, that it needs to go and it is okay NOW to release it.
Are ya ready? Let’s move on to today’s release!
Magickal Challenge — Today we are going to look around our living environment and we are going to find a place to set up a temporary Peace Altar. This is a place where we can (for a moment each day) fill ourselves with light and joy and acknowledge our release activities. This “place” can be a shelf, a table top, or even a movable candle board. Once you find it, clean the area thoroughly and take some time decorating it in a way that you feel will serve your family best. Bless the altar and add your Joy Jar.
When you have time, light a white candle and repeat the following:
There is peace in the moment. There is peace in my person. There is peace in my heart. There is peace in my mind. There is peace in my spirit. I send light and blessings to my ancestors. I send light and blessings to my family. I send light and blessings to my friends. There is joy within me. So be it.
Take a deep breath after each sentence, allowing your words to become reality within you. When finished, do the Star Throw Blessing. To do this, stretch out your dominant hand toward the earth. Imagine that there are glittering stars of healing there. Scoop up that energy in one graceful movement and move the stars with that hand into your heart chakra. Breathe deeply. As you exhale, throw the stars out into the universe, imagining that they are blessings and healing energy to those you love (or for those who desperately need it right now).
Be the healer.
Practice the Peace Prayer and the Star Throw Blessing every day this week. Each night before you go to bed, stop at your Peace Altar and acknowledge your hard work of the day. Be proud of yourself and welcome the joy of accomplishment no matter how large or small.
Physical Challenge — Clean out one drawer somewhere within the home, as well as the following:
The 3-Minute Throw!! Using a watch to keep track of time, see how much clutter your can remove in three minute bursts! Have a race with your spouse, significant other or your kids! Who can remove the most junk in the shortest amount of time! If they complain, explain to them that the Universe can’t allow you to manifest new stuff if the old stuff is in the way! Practice the 3-Minute Throw several times.
The 3-Minute Clean!!! Using a watch to keep track of time, see how much you can clean (remove dirt, grime, grease) in three minute bursts! See who can get surfaces the cleanest in the shortest amount of time! Remember that dirt and grime hold negativity! Practice the 3-Minute Clean as many times as you can!
Throw One Thing Away!!! Yup, no giving or donating this week. THIS WEEK is all about getting stuck, broken energy out of your living environment. As long as you throw one thing away EACH day through the end of the program, you will have successfully completed this year’s challenge — all the rest is cake!
3-Minute Deep Breathing!!! Gotta have it. The Magick is in the breath! Close your eyes, breathe deeply. Pull energy up from the ground, into your feet, up through your heart, into your head, down back into your heart, and out through your hands. The more you practice the better you get! Eventually, we’ll add a focus; but, for this week, let’s just practice breathing deeply and running energy through your body.
3-Minute Walk Through!!! Right before you go to bed, walk through your living environment, taking note of what you feel needs to be moved, removed, enhanced or completed tomorrow. Write yourself a reminder if you like. Pick up anything that wandered out of a corner and plopped itself in a space you already cleaned or cleared. Pay attention to that area — it is magnetized. Tomorrow, clear that space with a chant, prayer, or incense. If it continues to “collect” consider how you can use this collection point to your best magickal advantage.
Before You Fall Asleep: Right before you fall asleep, cast a circle in your mind around your bed. Finish with: “Peace with the Gods, Peace With Nature, Peace Within — Only the Good Remains” statement.
Create a Peace Altar, Cleanse and Bless it.
Repeat the Peace Prayer and practice the Star Throw Blessing.
Clean out one drawer.
Throw one thing away (most important task)
Practice the 3-Minute Throw, the 3-Minute Clean, and the 3-Minute Deep Breathing at least once today.
Don’t forget to add the coins to your Joy Jar!
