This Week’s Theme: Stillness
Think of nothing for as long as you can. As each thought tries to pop into your mind, take a deep breath, and envision the thought turns to liquid and melts away. Try to practice this three times a day.
In total stillness — there is great potential.
Hail and Welcome!
The moon is void most of the day, so this is a perfect day for catch-up activities, or taking care of something you put off
and put off
and put off.
Because, eventually, if you really wanted to have it done the universe will find a way to make it so in a way you simply did not anticipate!
Like my glasses. I was due for my annual checkup in September, and I said, “I’m too busy; but, I know I need new glasses. I’ll get there eventually.”
In October, I looked at my glasses and said, “I really ought to make that appointment; but — meh.”
In November, I dropped my glasses and when I picked them up I said to myself, “It is way past time to get a new pair of glasses; but, not right now.”
In the beginning of December, I said to no one in particular, “I should make an appointment to get new glasses before the winter weather hits.” Since no one answered (which they wouldn’t because I was alone at the time and if they did I would have had heart failure) — I said, “maybe later”.
Yesterday, the puppy ate my glasses. No worries, puppy is fine. Glasses are deceased. And, wouldn’t you know, when I called to make the appointment they are filled for the next three weeks. Since I can’t read, or sew, or write without my glasses this was not acceptable. I found a place that could see me right away, except of course, they don’t accept my eye plan. The up side of this story is that the doctor I really liked from the regular place is now at THIS place — so that was cool. The funny part? When I walked into the office, I explained about the dog eating the glasses and that I needed the glasses to see. The assistant nodded, and went about her business. About ten minutes later she handed me a stack of papers and said, “Please fill these out.” I looked at her and said, “No.” Her eyes got so big. “What do you mean, no?”
“Like I said, the dog ate my glasses. I can’t see print on the forms to fill them out.”
She blinked. “Oh.”
The moral of this story — do something today that you’ve been putting off so the universe doesn’t bring it to you in a way you don’t want. Unless, of course, you like living on the edge and unusual stuff is okay with you — then have at it.
The second part of today’s challenge is “Catch-Up” — Even the most organized person will find themselves in some type of disarray with the closure of the holidays. There are decorations to clean and pack away, furniture to move (maybe) back in place. Tasks left undone (like laundry) or deep cleaning the kitchen floor because a guest dumped soda and it ran into the corners — or maybe you shoved EVERYTHING in one room and just shut the door. Perhaps you need to make room for a gift you received over the holidays, or you need to organize and store leftover wrapping paper…whatever! Today is the day, when the moon is void, to take care of these minor tasks.
While you are doing your two challenges today let your subconscious mind rumble over the Joy Altar we are going to put together tomorrow. This is a temporary altar; however, if you desire, you can make it permanent. This altar should include personal goals for the New Year, favorite colors or flowers, and the year “2015” written on paper or utilized in a prop of some kind. You will also need a decorated jar or box that we will activate on New Year’s Eve.
