Day Twenty–Three- of 2018 Great Release Program – 23 December – Sunday By Silver RavenWolf

2rd Quarter Moon in Cancer– Saturday – Sunday Planetary Ruler – Sun

For the completion of this program, we will be working with the waning moon, perfect for release, letting go, and clearing mind, body and living space. From Wednesday on, (Moon enters helpful, organizational Virgo) you may find it considerably easier to let go of ideas, issues, and objects that no longer serve you well.

Do you love it? Is it useful? No?

See-ya.

The New Moon in Capricorn (and Solar Eclipse) will occur on 5 January at 8:28 PM EST/5:28 PM PST (to give you an idea of when you might want to begin a new cycle for the new year).  Those interested in astrology believe that all activities from fifteen minutes after the new moon through the following 8 hours are packed with forward-motion power, exceptional timing for the beginning of new projects and perfect for “wishes”.  This New Moon will also be a Solar Eclipse.   A Solar Eclipse influence is thought to last 3 to 6 months — meaning be careful what you are doing throughout the New Moon Day and where your thoughts wander.  You may choose to keep this information in mind when designing your ritual focus for New Moon magick. Capricorn is a “starter” (cardinal) sign – comfortable with moving forward — Earth energy delights in the planet Saturn’s ruling vibrations.

Capricorn energy lends well to patience, discipline, sensible choices and movement, concentration, strength, accomplishments, recognition, goal setting, future security, managing all things of the self, ambition, tradition, mature men, and reward for hard work.  As the sun is currently in Capricorn, all of these energy correspondences of this sign are active and will be vibrating in your life now through the next sun sign change (mid-January).  How you use this energy is entirely up to you.  When the Sun is in Capricorn (like now) — Make poppets/spirit animals of earth and water when the moon is in a water sign.  Make poppets/spirit animals of earth and fire (wax mixed with dirt) when the moon is in a fire sign.  Instill poppets with fragrant air when the moon is in an air sign by making your image of cotton (earth) infused with perfume or sacred smoke.

Your Challenge Today – Use Sacred Sound to banish negativity and uplift your spirits.  The next 3 days promise to be busy, so we want to keep the program as user-friendly as possible.  No-stress with our no-mess mindset, lol.  So, today, let’s just concentrate on the magick and influence of sound.  What daily/cyclical sounds in the home annoy you?  Can you remedy this?  Is there a way to reduce or eliminate this sound?  Why does that vibration bother you?  Let’s turn to what sounds you enjoy.  Do you like to sing?  Hum? Whisper?  How do you like to incorporate sound in your magickal/spiritual practice?

Choose one sound today that you will use every time someone or something annoys you.  This sound is to banish the negativity.  What will it be?

Choose one sound today that you will use when something makes you happy, when you are feeling loved, or when your head is “in a good place”.  What will that sound be?

Have fun with this one!  You can bark like a dog or cluck like a chicken!  Get the kids involved!  Or, you can be much saner and choose bells, rattles, a whistle, or a drum.

Be inventive!

Be you!

My Progress – I’ve been working on a lot of little things here and there along with the challenge suggestions, and I’ve been breaking down the bigger problem areas into a little each day until I have a chunk of time to finish.  I’ve also done small improvements that I said I would do throughout this year, and never got around to it.  Breaking down the larger tasks into multiple days worked really well with the laundry room, the hall closet, and under the sink (where I found something had leaked – ug).  I also found a way to re-purpose the old satellite dish that is outside.

That is a story.

So, when we first moved in, I said, “Could we remove the satellite dish please as we don’t use that company?  The wires, I see, are already cut and just hanging there.”  We – as in anyone who was in earshot.

Sure, no problem, I was told.

Two months later…Oh, wait.  They cemented it in.  We’ll have to get a chain and pull it out.  We can do it in the fall.

End of Year one and 3 feet of snow.  Still there.  Year two.  Same request.  Still there.  Year three when they were digging up the backyard with the big equipment – could we remove it, please?  Sure.  No problem. Oh, wait, (on the last day of the job) my boss says we can’t do that.

Fuming, me.

Year five? Six? It is still there.

Bugging me.  Glaring at me.  Squatting in the corner.  Leering.

It is an eyesore.  And it reminds me that I’ve been ignored.  That when I asked for help or assistance on repeated occasions everyone is just too busy.  And so it makes me feel bad because I have associated negative experiences and ideas of small self-worth with that stupid, broken satellite dish that sternly reminds me that I am not important. That I am probably stupid, old, and broken, too.  Of no use.

So, I decided I would damned well change that and dig myself out of this piss-poor mental rabbit hole.

That satellite dish?  It WAS an eyesore and it USED to make me feel bad.

Now, it is a bird feeder, and in the spring, I plan to paint it and add more cool animal-friendly stuff to it – and when I look at it?  I feel inventive, bright, and eager to create.  In my mind, I see what it will become with bold colors and wild habitat goodies.  I am in the process of changing something that angers me into something that will be uplifting for myself as well as nature.  I surfed the net and found tons of pics on turning satellite dishes into art!  I am stoked!  When the weather breaks I’ll be ready!

In the end, I realized, its all about perception.

My lesson from the release program this year?

You can take what you have and be successful if you let go of your private negativity and think beyond your own needs.  Ya just gotta be inventive!  Don’t wait for someone else to fix it for you.  Don’t fall into traditional role-bias-thinking about those around you.

Break free of the mental chains you created!

DIY, baby!  You can do this!

Remember – No matter what – give or throw something away today.  Release!
