DAY 12 — Skeleton Horse’s Pet Day

Theme: Today belongs to the beasts, fur-babies, scale-babies, feather-babies, and every beloved critter that shares your world.
Reward: 5 Gold Stars!
Magickal Moment — Skeleton Horse on Stable Duty
Down in the castle courtyard, Skeleton Horse clatters across the cobblestones, bones gleaming in the morning light. His stall is swept, his tack is polished, and a fresh wreath of herbs hangs over his doorway—rosemary for protection, chamomile for peace, and basil for good fortune. In the next stall, Crypt Mare swishes her shadowy tail and stamps a bony hoof in approval, her eyes glowing like twin lanterns in the dim stable light.
He pauses to watch the Boogers fuss over their own animal friends, brushing a scruffy hound, refilling the ravens’ shiny trinket dish, changing the water for the fish in the bubbling cauldron-pond, and raking out the Dragon’s Nest so it is fresh and cozy. Crypt Mare leans over her stall door, snorting little clouds of shimmering mist as she watches, as if blessing every critter with extra protection. The air smells of hay, soap, and happy animals.
Skeleton Horse knows a secret: When the animals are cared for, the energy of the whole household rises. Worry drifts away, guilt loosens its claws, the home feels more alive, more protected, more right. Today, he invites you to do the same in your own world—one bowl, one bed, one beloved critter at a time.

Main Release Task — Pet Day Deep Refresh
Focus on your pet spaces today, or, if you do not have pets, choose an area where animal energy lives—perhaps the bird feeder zone just outside the window, a garden corner where wildlife visits, or a small space where you keep photos and mementos of animal companions who have crossed the veil.
Choose at least one main pet zone and give it a loving overhaul. Wash food and water bowls and refill them with clean, sparkling water so nourishment and care are literally shining back at you. Clean or change litter boxes, cages, tanks, or bedding until the space feels welcoming and fresh. Vacuum, sweep, or mop around pet areas to clear away fur tumbleweeds, scattered litter, and stray kibble. Check leashes, collars, tags, harnesses, toys, and beds, then remove anything broken, unsafe, or truly worn-out so safety and comfort become the new standard. Let expired treats, old medications, and crusty grooming products go so healthier choices have room to move in.
In an earlier blog post I mentioned that when my special-needs puppy came home in late August, I had to rebuild my day from the ground up—different feeding times, medication schedules, constant monitoring, new vet appointments woven into an already full life—and just when I thought I had found a rhythm, his sister began showing her own medical issues, which meant more vet visits, more bills, more bottles with tiny labels and complicated instructions. It is so easy, when your precious is sick (human or fur-baby), to feel as if the entire world has collapsed into a narrow tunnel of worry and exhaustion, where you are always bracing for the next call, the next test result, the next “we need to check one more thing.” In those moments I leaned hard on simple, magickal actions stitched directly into the routine I already had: I whispered a blessing over every dose of medicine before I gave it, traced protection sigils in the air above their food bowls; I drew magickal symbols on their collars and halters, I kept a small candle when I was in the room or battery light near their beds when I was not and turned it on as a “healing lamp” whenever they slept as well; I used a favorite calming scent—lavender, chamomile, and lemon verbena—as a quick mist in the room before we left for the vet, asking the spirits of health and balance to walk with us; I put my bare hand on the earth, a potted plant, or a wooden table after each stressful phone call and said, “I release fear, I keep love,” letting the extra panic run down my arm and into the ground, and on our morning walks I would collect stones and at some point make a circle or a rune and had the animal sit or step on it asking the universe for special blessings for this animal. We would greet the sun each day together with the Braucherei morning blessing. Sometimes I would whisper. Sometimes aloud.
Eastwards I stand
For favors I pray
From Goddess Divine
And Lord of the Day.
Earth lends Her Power
And Breath sends the spell
Days end will reveal
That all will be well.
None of these things erased the medical reality, but they reminded me that I am not helpless, that I can weave care, protection, and balance through even the most overwhelming days—and that this program, step by tiny step, is part of bringing my home and heart in alignment with harmony.
As you work, imagine worry, guilt, and neglect dissolving with every wipe and sweep. You are not “behind.” You are showing up today, and that is what counts.
15-Minute Quick Task
If your energy is low, keep it simple and choose just one brief focus. You might thoroughly wash and bless all pet dishes so they sparkle with care, or completely refresh one litter box, cage, or bedding area so your animal has a clean, cozy space, or do a focused fifteen-minute sweep or vacuum of the main pet zone to shift the energy quickly and visibly.
While you work, you can quietly say: “Loved, safe, and cared for—my animals and I thrive together.”
Weekly Goal Check-In
We are moving deeper into the program now. Take a breath and look at your weekly goal. Ask yourself if you are traveling toward it, even in the smallest of ways. Notice whether the goal still feels right as written, or whether it needs a gentle adjustment to fit where you truly are today.
With today’s Libra Moon energy, there is a natural invitation to rebalance how you share time, care, and attention—between yourself, your responsibilities, and the beings who depend on you. If your goal is not flowing, you are absolutely allowed to tweak it so that it feels more fair, more honest, and more sustainable. The Great Release Program is about support, not punishment. Skeleton Horse, with Crypt Mare at his side, nods approvingly every time you choose kindness and balance for yourself.
Astrology Snapshot
Today the Moon is already in her Fourth Quarter phase and slips into Libra, highlighting balance, harmony, and the give-and-take within relationships. This includes the quiet, wordless bonds you share with your animal companions, as well as the inner agreement you make with yourself to offer care without sacrificing your own well-being. It is a wonderful energy for bringing pet spaces, schedules, and responsibilities back into better proportion so everyone—two-legged and four-legged alike—can breathe easier.
As the Libra Moon moves through this releasing phase, Mercury in Sagittarius is moving into a supportive sextile with Pluto in Aquarius that will be exact tomorrow. This alignment encourages clear conversations, honest thinking, and deeper insight. It can help you see where old habits around caretaking, guilt, or avoidance need to transform, and it supports small but powerful decisions—updating routines, setting realistic limits, or asking for help with pet care or household tasks.
At the same time, there is a growing square between Mars in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces that will be exact on Sunday. This influence can stir confusion, over-idealism, or a tendency to push too hard when you are tired. Rather than running yourself ragged, use today’s work as a gentle, grounded response: take simple, practical steps for your animals, listen to your body, and avoid martyrdom. A little real-world action, paced with kindness, goes much farther than a grand gesture that leaves you drained.
Booger Boost — Skeleton Horse Speaks
“I’m Skeleton Horse, rattling with pride because you showed up for your beloved beasts today,Every dish you cleaned and nest you refreshed has turned your home into a healing stable where all of you can rest.”
Today’s Reward
When your Pet Day work is complete, give yourself and your animals a small celebration. You might enjoy extra cuddle time, offer a special treat to your furry, feathery, or scaly beloveds while you sip something comforting for yourself, or simply sit quietly with a hand on fur, feather, or scale and say: “Thank you for sharing this life with me.”

Day 12 — End of Day Reflection
As the day winds down and the house finally gets a little quieter, take a moment to sit with what you did for the animals in your life today, and for yourself. You may have washed bowls, changed bedding, scrubbed a litter box, sorted old medicines, or simply sat with a beloved creature and said, “I’m here.” You might have worked in the pet zones, at the bird feeder, in the garden, or with the memory of an animal who has crossed the veil. However big or small the actions were, they count. They changed the energy.
In your journal, describe what you did today in one or two honest sentences, then notice how your body feels now compared to this morning. If you are not journaling, speak aloud. Take nice, deep breaths when something disturbs you. You can move past the bumps and potholes of the day. With your pet tasks completed, do you breathe a little deeper when you walk past the refreshed pet space, does the guilt feel lighter, do you sense more calm when you look at your animals resting? Write down or speak aloud one feeling that surprised you, even if it is something as simple as “relieved” or “tired but satisfied.” Sit quietly in an aromatic atmosphere – use a singing bowl, rattle, or drum while you whisper your feelings. Don’t forget, you can always draw a doodle on your calendar to commemorate the accomplishment of your day!
Now think about your weekly goal. Has anything you did today supported that goal, even sideways, even in a tiny way? If the answer is yes, write one line that begins, “Today moved me toward my goal because…” and finish it. If the answer is no, that is information, not failure. Write or speak aloud, “What I learned about my goal today is…” and tell yourself the truth.
Close by placing your hand on fur, feather, scale, a photograph, or your own heart and say, “I showed up for love today. That is enough.” Let that be the last word on Day 12.
Peace with the Gods
Peace with Nature
Peace within!

Pets are well appreciated and lovingly cared for at our house. I am currently being sat on by my 20 pound big boy cat, Oscar. All our pets are rescues. They are so spoiled, 2 catios, tons of toys, Catnip plants, as well as cat grass. They are family and are treated as such. We have had many pets over the years mostly cats and dogs.
