The holidays can be such a stressful time, and it seems that people often act out in negative ways — heightening the misery! When the Moon is in Cancer, emotions are usually at the core of our activities. Individuals focus on hearth and home, awareness of their needs, compassion, sympathy, understanding and safety. Moon in Cancer is a good time for working magicks of family harmony, protection, self-love, adjusting our self-esteem, and emotional security. Negative behavior that can be evident during this time includes unnatural fear, narrow mindedness, mood swings, dreaming to avoid reality and emotional blackmail. This year we have a Uranus in Aries and a Pluto in Capricorn square coming up at the end of the week (the sixth in the series due to retrograde motion) which can add a bit of a twist to your activities all week long, touching each moon window with electric power. A square means we have to adjust, and situations may arise between now and next Sunday (if they haven’t already) where new versus old grinds together encouraging changes for the better. If you have not already begun this change voluntarily, the universe will help you along! This “change” and encouragement to “adjust” has been with all of us for quite some time and began in June of 2012. Think back to determine where you have made the most changes (voluntarily or forced) since that time. After next Sunday, Uranus and Pluto have one more go of it — on 16 March 2015, where pressure is exerted between the old and the new in your life.
In keeping with the idea of change (because that is what this program is all about) for the better, today’s main challenge is with water (Moon in Cancer).
Main Challenge: Wash all the floors and surfaces (that can safely come in contact with water) with empowered, consecrated water. No, you do not have to wash the carpets unless you feel REALLY motivated. Did you ever think what it would be like if you could actually “see” emotional dirt? Like if it was puke purple, or pea green, or dirty orange film on stuff? Change is easier if your environment is clean (no kidding). Let’s move smoothly into super success, rather than tripping over the gunk to get there.
What can you add to the water so that you get more bang for each mop stroke? Here’s a list of what you may choose to add to your wash water:
Basil — for harmony and blending herbs together Orange or Lemon Peel — great for banishing and replacing the void with attraction energy Rosemary — wonderful for banishing and promotes healing

Secondary Challenge: New Year’s Transformation and Home Protection Packet.
In Braucherei, herbs are often placed in small cloth packets, and are either carried or worn on one’s person; or, placed in a specific area of the home. Sometimes the packets are actually sewn into clothing and bedding. Quilt designs that incorporate runes help to boost the power of the packet.

The New Year’s Transformation and Home Protection Packet includes:
Holly Leaves— to guard and protect the home from negativity and evil spirits Ivy — to guard against negativity and disaster Mistletoe Root— to boost the power of Holly and Ivy, and used for protection against disease
Draw or print out the above design. Color as you desire. Write all the names of the individuals living in your home on the back of the design, as well as the physical address of the home. Wrap nine leaves of holly with nine leaves of Ivy sprinkled with mistletoe root in the design. Fold the paper toward you as you create the packet. Place the paper packet in a piece of white cloth. Fold the cloth as you did the paper. Tie tightly closed with red thread or yarn. Empower for household protection, positive transformation and good luck in the coming New Year by running energy into the packet and blowing on it softly. Command the packet to work for you. Remember to seal it with an equal-armed cross traced in the air over top three times. Place the packet somewhere in the center of your home, where it will not be disturbed. Ivy, Holly and Mistletoe Root can be toxic to dogs, cats, and horses — so be sure to put the packet where it won’t be of interest to a curious pet. If you are worried about someone or something in the home ingesting your packet, change the ingredients to food safe herbals.
