Day 13 - Great Release Program 2025

DAY 13 — Nutcracker Guard Day

ree

Theme:  Today we turn our attention to gates, doors, and thresholds, the places where energy enters and leaves your private world.

Reward:  8 Stars

Magickal Moment — The Nutcracker Guardians

At the Booger Knight Castle, three enchanted nutcrackers stand watch at the gates and towers. They are carved from ancient wood and painted in jewel tones, their eyes bright with quiet awareness. One carries a magick drum that never needs hands to play it, the rhythm rising whenever danger approaches or when someone with a heavy heart comes to the door and needs extra kindness. One carries a magick wand, its tip glowing with a soft, steady light that reveals truth, clears confusion, and blesses anyone who passes beneath the archways. The third carries a magick sword, not to harm, but to slice through stale, clinging energies, broken promises, and emotional cobwebs that try to creep across the threshold.

Together they guard the gates and the tower doors, feeling every footstep on the stone, listening to every knock and creak. They know that what passes in and out of a home shapes the emotional weather inside. Tonight, they whisper to you from their high perches and shadowed alcoves, asking you to consider your own thresholds and doorways. What are you allowing in? What is still hanging around that should have left long ago?

Main Release Task — Thresholds, Doors, and Gateways

Saturday’s are super busy days for most families, particularly in December, so if you need to take the entire weekend to get this challenge done, that’s just fine.  Today’s focus is on entrances and exits. Choose your main doorway first, the front door, the back door, the door you personally use most often, or the path that guests naturally follow. Wipe the door itself, inside and out, paying special attention to the doorknob or handle, the frame, and the area just above the threshold where dust and old energy like to cling.

Straighten or clean the doormat, or replace it if it has truly served its time, then remove shoes, boxes, bags, and clutter that trip you up, block the way, or make you sigh every single time you pass through. If it pleases you, hang a fresh holiday wreath or seasonal decoration at this main entrance (see additional challenge below), a living or symbolic charm that announces to the world—and to your own spirit—that this doorway has been cleared, blessed, and renewed.

If you can, extend this clearing to at least one more entry point, perhaps a side door, a balcony door, a stair landing, or the top of a set of steps. Think of yourself as working alongside the enchanted nutcrackers, clearing their line of sight, opening the way so they can better guard your space. If it feels right, you may choose a simple protective touch, such as a pinch of salt in a small dish near the door, a few protective herbs tied with ribbon on the knob or hung above the frame, or a quiet spoken blessing asking that only what is helpful, honest, and loving may pass through. You can also draw protective pentacles with clove oil at the top and bottom, left and right, of each threshold, sealing the doorway in soothing, fragrant warding. Some practitioners add brick dust under outdoor rugs and mats to prevent evil from crossing into the home, a quiet, powerful line in the sand that says, “Not here, not in this house.”

As you work, notice how your body responds. Many people carry tension right at the threshold, in their shoulders, in their jaw, in the way they brace for whatever is coming next. Today, you are softening that pattern. You are saying, “This is my home, my castle, my boundary, and I choose what enters and leaves.”

Today’s secondary challenge is to put a wreath on your front door.  You can purchase it and charm it, or you can make it yourself.  I put together one with pine, cranberries and popcorn!  You can use any materials you like.  A wreath on the door is more than decoration—it’s a spelled circle that announces the energy you’re inviting into your home. The unbroken ring says continuity, protection, and “this space is claimed,” while the materials whisper their own magick. Pine boughs bring evergreen protection, strength, and purification, keeping your threshold lively and guarded even in the darkest months. Popcorn threads carry the power of transformation and plenty—simple kernels puffed into light, airy abundance—calling in prosperity, playfulness, and small joys that grow bigger than expected. Cranberries add bright, protective fire to the mix, standing for health, love, and strong, healthy boundaries, warding off what doesn’t belong while welcoming the blessings that do. Together, a pine, popcorn, and cranberry wreath becomes a smiling shield on your door, saying: “Only good may enter here.”

15-Minute Quick Task

If time or energy are limited, choose the one doorway that most affects your mood and give it your full attention for just fifteen minutes. Wipe the knob and frame, shake or vacuum the mat, pick up anything that does not belong and move it farther inside or all the way out to the trash, recycling, or donation box. Open the door wide for a moment, even if it is cold, and imagine stale energy rushing out while fresh, balanced air flows in.

While you work, you might quietly say, “My doors are clear, my path is open, I welcome only what supports my well-being.”

For a super boost, draw pentacles on all doors and windows with holy water or Florida Water.

Weekly Goal Check-In

By Day 13, the program has begun to show you where your energy naturally goes and where it drains away. Take a quiet moment to review your weekly goal. Ask yourself whether your actions are aligning with that intention, even in small, almost invisible ways. Notice whether the goal still feels fair and balanced, or if it now feels lopsided, too heavy in one direction, or too focused on pleasing others at the expense of your own needs.

With the Fourth Quarter Moon moving through Libra, the sky emphasizes closure, recalibration, and the art of saying, “This much is fine, that much is too far.” If your weekly goal needs adjustment, this is an excellent day to revise it. You are allowed to shift the terms of your inner agreements. The enchanted nutcrackers at the castle gates would tell you that even the strongest fortress must sometimes rebuild its walls and rededicate its doors.

Astro Snapshot for Day 13

The Moon is in her Fourth Quarter phase in Libra, and this brings a subtle but powerful focus on rebalancing relationships, boundaries, and the energetic give-and-take in your life. Libra’s influence at this phase asks, “What do you wish to keep, and what are you ready to release, so that peace has a real chance to grow?” Working with doors and thresholds under this Moon supports the release of old patterns around how you let people, tasks, and emotions cross your personal lines.

The Moon’s sextile to Venus in Sagittarius adds a hopeful, outward-looking glow to the day. Venus in Sagittarius encourages you to see your home and your habits within a larger story, one where you are allowed to seek more joy, authenticity, and adventure, even while dealing with everyday responsibilities. Clearing your entryways under this aspect is not just “cleaning,” it is a small ritual of welcoming in brighter experiences and more honest connections, while kindly closing the door on what has become stagnant or draining.

Booger Boost — The Nutcracker Trio Speaks

“We are the Nutcracker Guards at your gates, and we saw you clear those doors and thresholds today. Your castle stands stronger and brighter because of you, and we are proud to watch over the path you claimed.”

Today’s Reward

When your work with doors and thresholds is finished, stand for a moment at one freshly cleared entrance. Open the door, breathe in deeply, then close it with intention, as if you are gently sealing in protection, comfort, and calm. You might enjoy a warm drink by that doorway, light a small candle on a nearby shelf or table, or simply touch the knob and say, “This is my space, and it supports me.”

You have refreshed the very points where your private world begins and ends. That is powerful boundary magick, and you did it one simple action at a time.
