Day 12 - Great Release Program 2020

Day Twelve of the Great Release Program by Silver RavenWolf 2020

3rd Qtr Leo Moon Saturn in Capricorn conjunct Pluto in Capricorn Focus meets the Power of Transformation! Earth Magick! Evolution and Growth as long as you don't suppress change with fear. Write a goal on a piece of paper.  Bury in the earth, asking the Mother for wisdom and focus to transform in the best possible way.

“How do you fix this?” I held up the plug from the bathroom sink, which was supposed to be attached to…something... so that it can move up and down and stop the water from running out.

“It hooks over a pivot rod.”

“There's no rod.  I looked.  It must have rusted off.  See, there's rust on there."  I stuck the plug under his nose.  I was proud of myself because I meticulously washed it off, so he wouldn't have to touch the slime.

“That's not rust.  Just grime.  And, of course, there is a rod,” he said, marching to the other end of the house carrying the offending plug.  I shook my head as I trailed after.

I handed him my phone.

“What’s this for?”

“Flashlight.”

“Oh.”

Waiting.  Waiting.  Waiting.

“There’s no rod.  Must have rusted off.”

After 40 years of being together, here is a prime example of how experience has taught me that I can choose how to react.  I turn my head and take a deep breath, fishing for my “I shall be calm” tone of voice.  “So, how do we fix it?” I ask once again.  He launches into a long dissertation of where he has to go, how long it will take, and if they don’t have the part, I will have to deal with a disassembled sink for several weeks.  Then he says, “Or, we could just buy a rubber stopper.”

My nostrils narrow sufficiently for my eyes to squint.  I know from personal experience that purchasing a rubber stopper means that the sink will never be repaired – at least by this person, who will believe the problem is now solved, and no further worry shall cross his brain on the issue.

I know this as surely as I know my eyes are brown.

I could fix the sink myself, look on the internet, figure it out, and waste my entire day which I can't do because I have birthday gifts to make today; but, I know he knows how.  I don’t believe in wasting someone’s unique skill-set.  Right?  I smile and say, “You know I’m running the release program…”  I watch him visibly shudder.  “Today happens to be Fix-It Day!  Why don’t we buy a new facet set?  This one is seven years old.”  I know what will happen next because the facet part still works just fine.

He hands me back my phone, looking mildly disgusted.  Secretly, I know that he is bored to tears today.  Giving him a mission will perk him up.  “I’ll clear the vanity out, wash the interior, and put in new shelf paper,” I offered, knowing that he could care less.  When I send my husband on a task, I understand he will be gone for hours.  He's happy when he is tooling around in his truck.

He returns 3 hours later...maybe 4.  He is not carrying a facet set -- he is carrying the part needed for the sink.  He wanders into the bathroom and emerges in less than 5 minutes.  "Done!" he mutters.  I blow on my nails and shine them on my shirt.  He has a Taurus moon, you understand, and he won't replace something that is in perfectly good order.  "What's in the bag?" I ask.

"Cleaning supplies.  Since its the release program time again, I thought I'd clean the shower in my bathroom.  We've been together all this time, you don't think I'd let you finish this program alone, do you?"

I smile.  I just love it when a plan comes together.

Today's Challenge:  Bits n' Pieces Day -- Try to take care of as many of those little things that you've let slide over the past few busy months.  This can be errands, boxing up something you meant to send to a friend, purchasing a few organizational items, finishing something you started a while back, etc.  Earn 10 Gold Stars.  Organize what you can't get done.  Quilters have a UFO box or bin (Unfinished Objects) -- why not create a UFO box of your own?  Rather than leaving unfinished projects lying around, bag the pieces and label the outside of the bag with the name of the project.  When you feel like doing another Bitty Day, everything will be right there and, you won't have to hunt for anything.
