In a quiet village surrounded by tulip poplars and fragrant dogwood, there lived a powerful witch named AnnaMaria.   Known for her profound wisdom and unmatched conjure abilities, she used stitchery and herb craft to make her living and help her neighbors.  She often heard the villagers lamenting their many losses—trinkets, cherished items, and even loved ones who had wandered too far from home. To aid them, AnnaMaria decided to create a spirit that could help solve these woes. She gathered scraps of fabric from the villagers, soft, carded wool for stuffing, and spools of thick, black thread. Although she searched for vibrant pots of paint, she found only rusted cans of black dye. AnnaMaria wasn't deterred.  She trusted in the universe that what she needed would be provided.  She spent several days scouring the woods, searching for just the right herbal ingredients to add to her project.  Time was of the essence.

On midsummer's eve, when magic swirled with every frog’s song and the firefly's sparkle ignited delightful passion, AnnaMaria sat in her sacred outdoor circle with all her supplies.  The aroma of the bonfire, laced with dried hyssop, lavender, and rosemary, permeated the clearing, settling her mind with peace and contentment. She felt her senses unite with the nature spirits, the earth, the sky, and the stars.  Together, they were one.  From this place of power, she began to work, stitching together a creature with pointy ears, a long tail, and a charming, mischievous, snaggletoothed face. To complete the enchantment, AnnaMaria concocted a special brew of secret herbs in her cauldron, hanging the kettle over the midsummer night bonfire until it boiled just right.  And when it cooled, she sprinkled the liquid over her finished work to bring the creature to life. The most essential ingredient? Her breath of Love!

And as the dawn sun tickled the edges of the wood on Midsummer morning, AnnaMaria declared its magickal species and its purpose... Found-It!

Upon hearing his name, Found-It shimmered with a glittering light.  A creature of kindness and curiosity, he instantly captivated all who met him.  Found-It flitted through the village, exploring every nook and cranny.  He located lost treasures of all sorts in various shapes and sizes.  From errant socks to missing door keys, from buried bracelets to misplaced diaries, Found-It delighted everyone with his ability to discover!  The villagers marveled at his playful antics, scouring fields, creeping beneath hedges, snooping in root cellars, and darting through gardens, all the while trilling and singing his melodic finding song.  "It's not there.  It's there.  It's not there.  It's there.  It's not there.  It's there!  Found it!"  He even managed to reveal a secret or two to help the innocent, located someone's lost self-esteem, and assisted older folks in finding fond memories they'd misplaced. From that day on, lost objects and wayward souls made their way back to their rightful owners, all thanks to the delightful, happy spirit named...Found-It.

Summer Solstice Goals 2025

Since last year, I have been incorporating the 8 Wiccan holidays into my life as individual markers for goal completion.  Eight months into the challenge, I have found the practice to be highly transformative and far from boring! Each sabbat brings its unique energy, tied to the rhythms of nature and the deeper meanings of the season. For every holiday, I choose a specific goal and align it with the essence of the celebration as well as the cycles within the land around me.  This approach not only helps me stay attuned to the flow of life throughout the year but also adds a sense of sacred intention to my personal development.  Each goal is the creation of a milestone that feels both meaningful and magical.  Sometimes, I choose a particular goal through meditation and considered thought, and in other instances, I have just gone with the flow and allowed my muse to forge gaily ahead.  This project, the Found-It! creature and his story blossomed at the last minute, reminding me that our most endearing work may not be the result of months of planning and that it is okay to let go and see where life, your passion, and your interests take you!
